19/8/2014

After the racing at Anglesey had taken place without us, our championship lead was reduced to 92 points. But with only 75 points left up for grabs, we have now been officially confirmed as the 2014 NG Road Racing Supertwin Champions!

It is an unusual feeling to be crowned as champions whilst away from the track - but as it was only possible due to the hard work put in throughout the season, we have no problems with accepting or celebrating this great championship victory!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of my supporters (if you're reading this - then that's you!), Dave Carson Snr, Steph Carson, Sam Pointon, Lorna Carson, Tim Poole of the Poole Performance Centre, Lavastorm Analytics & I would particularly like to thank Michael Mulvaney from Proficient Security for his continued support.

We have four race meetings remaining in our 2014 season, with the next meeting taking place in South Wales at the Pembrey circuit on Saturday 13th September & Sunday 14th September.

Injury forces us out at Anglesey

Rounds 10 & 11 of the NG Road Racing Supertwin championship are taking place at the Anglesey Coastal circuit on Saturday 16th August and Sunday 17th August. Prior to the event there was a No Limits trackday on Friday 15th August - we entered into the intermediate group but the riders were a little slower than we expected (see video below) - but due to the trackday being full and there being a backlog of riders waiting to go on track, we were unable to switch into a quicker group.
With the exception of having to navigate through the slower riders, things were going well until the fourth session of the day when we tangled with another racer (Liam Delves) whilst making our way through some of the slower traffic. Looking at the data, we tangled at approximately 85mph, whilst on the brakes, and then we eventually slid off when we ran onto the grass at 52mph.

The bad news is that a broken left collarbone was suffered as a result of the crash...

The better news is that the damage to our Kawasaki ER650 Supertwin appears mainly cosmetic...

Unfortunately, with the injuries that have been sustained, we will not be competing in either NG Rounds 10 & 11 at Anglesey this weekend, nor at Darley Moor Round 5 on Bank Holiday Monday 25th August.

Big thanks must go out to Dan Barfoot, Dave Carson Snr and Lorna Carson for packing up the van and caravan after the crash!

We are aiming to compete at NG rounds 12 & 13 at Pembrey on Saturday 13th September & Sunday 14th September, subject to the rider repairing successfully.
